The EATTA is an influential organisation with a membership covering all aspects of the timber trade as well as associated sectors. EATTA is affiliated to the Timber Trade Federation [TTF founded 1892] and works with defined standards of trading in wood products on which customers can rely and to which members are held accountable.


All members of the TTF are committed to trading only in legally sourced timber as a minimum requirement.It is a condition of TTF membership that all member companies conduct annual audited due diligence surveys on all their supply sources to ensure this is the case. This is done using either the TTF’s own survey framework, the Responsible Purchasing Policy, or the members’ own externally audited approved due diligence system. In the over-riding majority of cases members’ supplies are from legal and sustainable sources and meet either FSC or PEFC chain of custody requirements.

Chris James

Director of Nason Davis Ltd.      

Chris is a Director and Owner of Nason Davis based near Cambridge. In addition to overseeing their UK division, he works actively with their three
production units and office in Estonia and their Far Eastern sales from their  own office in Japan. They have been members of both the TTF and EATTA
since the companies incorporation nearly 30 years ago.

He has over 35 years knowledge & experience of this industry and is still clocking up the air miles travelling extensively & regularly to their major markets
and supply countries.   

Pete Wittish
Vice Chairman

Head of Purchasing, Ridgeons Ltd. 

Pete has worked for Ridgeons for 24 years, at the Groups further processing and bulk storage Sawmill site, based in Suffolk. After working in the Sawmill, Yard, Treatment plant, Sales & Operations offices, Pete joined the Purchasing team for Timber and Timber Panel products in 2002. During the past 16 years, Pete has been heavily involved in all areas of Purchasing for the Forest Products Sawmill division and the Ridgeon Group. Working closely with supplier partners from around the globe, Ridgeons & Ridgeons Forest Products have now become a major timber importer within the UK of Softwoods, Hardwoods and Panel products for which Pete is now ultimately responsible for.


Sheila Hutchings

Sheila is Secretary / Treasurer of EATTA having taken over the role in January 2014, when health issues prevented her from continuing her active life as Sales & Purchasing for numerous Terminal Based Timber Companies throughout the UK over the last 30 + years. Sheila wanted to keep in touch with the trade and is committed to EATTA and the part it plays within the TTF.
